Lack of Creativity

Hey guys, I know I haven't been on here lately. I've been so busy and my senior year is about to start so I have to worry about college apps and all that fun stuff.
Nevertheless, there's a topic I feel is worthy of some discussion. Lately, with all the advances in technology and all the new reality tv shows, it seems that people are losing their sense of creativity. I used to love browsing through the deviantart home page to look at everyone's beautiful paintings or poetry. Now, whenever I visit, I don't see anything except overused themes and lame photographs; I almost never see any literary works. I don't know why, but it seems like the younger and uprising generation is lacking imagination. They're too immersed in modern technology and they'd rather play games on their new smartphones than write something they can be proud of.
Maybe it's just me, but please comment and tell me your opinion on this!

Song Writing!

So I've recently discovered this uberly-talented singer/songwriter on Youtube who is absolutely amazing and does not need to tweak her vocals to produce a nice sound. Also her songs are creative and catchy.
Sooooo I guess I feel inspired and motivated. And it's always been a dream of mine to write a song but well 1) I'm a horrible singer. 2) I've tried writing music...didn't turn out too well. Also...well I have that problem that once I hear/see someone else's work/ideas, they're all I can think of thus I'm incapable of coming up with my own melody and whatnot.
But I thought that it'd be neat to give some of my poems music...so yeah...this journal probably seems really pointless but I was bored and don't feel like doing English hw...so here I am.

sigh
I don't know what I'm doing with my life anymore...it just feels like I no longer have a purpose. Like there's nothing to look forward to each day. Like no matter what I do, I can never get it right.
I miss what my life used to be like...even though I hated it at the time, looking back, everything seemed perfect. So just a word of advice: appreciate what you have now (no matter how much you may hate certain things/people) because before you know it, it's gonna be gone and there's no way to get it back. And even though every teenager hates his/her life, trust me, it can get soooooooo much worse.
But on the bright side, I've realized that I have the most amazing friends in the whole world. And I hope that everyone has at least one good friend like this. Someone you can go to with all your problems and even if they dont really care/understand, it feels like they do. Someone you can talk to about your deepest feelings and they won't judge you. Someone who tells you not to be sad, not because they hate your pessimism, but because they seriously want you to be happy.

Then there's guy C who people think like me even though we're just friends, close ones but still. Majorly complicated and confusing. There's this guy A that I used to like last year and now he's a close friend but I'm not sure if I "like" him or not; sometimes I think I do but then I don't. Then there's guy B who I met recently and he's really cool to talk to and our conversations always leave me happy but he already told me he doesn't date, so I'm trying to get over him but it's not working.
Then there's guy C who people think like me even though we're just friends, close ones but still. Then Guy D who's also a close friend and sometimes I catch myself staring at his (nice) biceps but I don't know if I could ever think about him romantically. Yeah...
